He was predeceased by: his parents, Galor Shipman and Dorothy Shipman (Rhodes); his wife Lillian Dyer; and his brothers, Kenneth, Robert and Edwin Shipman.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Sandoval (Fernando) of Sterling, Tina Parks of Sterling and Michael Shipman (Staci) of Grand Bay, AL; and his siblings, Janet Johnson of Polo, Karen Shipman of Polo, Janelle Shipman, Judy Coffey (Jimmy) of Polo, Gary Shipman of Polo, Donald Shipman (Camile) of Milledgeville, David Shipman of Dixon and Steven Shipman of Mt. Morris. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home (505 1st Ave, Sterling, IL 61081).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
