He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Linscheid and Anna Linscheid (Neufeld); his sons, Jeff Linscheid and Bobby John Henry Linscheid; and his siblings, Eldon Linscheid and Mildred Ellis.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Grimm; his sons, Brad Linscheid of Thomson, IL, Greg Linscheid (Lori) of Rockford, IL and Gary Linscheid (Michelle) of Loves Park, IL; his siblings, Luane Linscheid of Morgantown, WV, Vera Holmes of Golden Valley, MN and Vernelle Stoesz (John) of Becker, MN; his daughter-in-law Marci Linscheid of North English, IA; his grandchildren, Kendal Linscheid (Brianna), Jordan Linscheid (Ashley), Kassie Nicchitta (Nick), Makinzie Kors (Jay), Cole Linscheid (Amber), Ethan Linscheid and Morgan Linscheid; and his great grandchildren, Annika and Liesl.

A memorial has been established to the Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State Street in Rockford, IL 61102.
