David leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. David’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew David will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Simpson and Joan Simpson (Tunk). He is survived by: his siblings, Laura Bawinkel (Dan) and Mark Simpson; and his nephews, Paul Bawinkel and Steven Simpson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home (505 1st Ave, Sterling, IL 61081). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Windridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone.
