It is with sadness that the passing of Eliza Penaflor of Sterling, Illinois is shared. Eliza, born on June 15, 1939, passed away on August 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ignacio Rodriguez and Celcilia Rodriguez (Montez); her brother Manuelito; and her sons, Ignacio, Herman, Hector and Alfredo Rodriguez.
She is survived by: her husband Manuel Joseph Penaflor; her children, Elizabeth McCombs (Terry), Mark Penaflor, Krista Quick (Greg) and Kevin Penaflor; her sisters, Irma Puentes, Ezmeralda Escobedo and Yolanda Moreno; and her grandchildren, Amanda Williams (Ryan), Nichole McCombs, Zachary Quick, Jacob Penaflor, Nicholas McCombs (Adrienne), Molly Quick, Ashley Penaflor, Mitchell Penaflor, Brandon Quick (Bryen) and Stephon Penaflor. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home (1002 12th Ave, Rock Falls, IL 61071). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (600 Avenue B, Sterling, IL 61081).
