He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Burton and Berniece Burton. He is survived by : his brother Donald Burton (Peg) of Sterling; his nephews, Richard Burton of Kenosha, WI, John Burton (Katy) of Brandon, FL and Michael Souder (Heidi) of St. Petersburg, FL.; and his niece Elisabeth Lindsay of Valrico, FL.

A memorial has been established to the CGH Medical Foundation for Dementia.
