It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gordon R. Rolofson of Sterling, Illinois, who passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Rolofson and Jessie Rolofson (McCallister); his former wife Sharon Carbaugh; his daughter Rhonda DeJonge; and his great grandchild Oliver DeJonge.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Rolofson; his daughters, Gwen Eads and Kelly McDuffy (Mike); his stepdaughters, Nancy Reins (Kenny) and Kathy Chinberg (Doug); his sisters, Evelyn Jones and Kathy Lynn Hancock (Hubbard); his grandchildren, Joshua Eads, Brandon DeJonge, Travis DeJonge, Dylan DeJonge, Chance McDuffy, Cody McDuffy and Jessie Eads; and his stepgrandchildren, Kendra Bittner, Kinzie Reins, Christine Gruenwald and Robert Chinberg. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Coleta United Methodist Church (112 N Main, Coleta, IL 61081). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established to the Coleta United Methodist Church and the Oliver DeJonge Memorial (Checks may be made out to UIHC Stead Family Childrens Hospital).
