He was predeceased by : his parents, Isadore Meyer and Marie Meyer (Napadano). He is survived by : his wife LuAnn Rekenthaler; his children, Chandra Meyer-Howard (Ryne), Chelsey Ramirez (Fernando) and Garrett Volz; and his grandsons, Aiden Volz of Sterling and Camden Volz of Sterling.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home (702 1st Ave, Sterling, IL 61081). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (509 Avenue B, Sterling, IL 61081).
