He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Underwood and Anna Marie Underwood (Hahn). He is survived by: his wife Jamie Duffy of Sterling; his children, Bridget Tuft of Naperville and James Underwood of Sterling; his brother Bill Underwood (Suzanne) of Michigan; his grandchildren, Michael, Maggie, Natalie, Anna Marie and Andrew; and his kitties, Zoomer, Gretchen, Huckabee and Gray Boy. He is also survived by two nieces; one nephew.

Memorials may be made in his memory to the Sterling Schools Foundation or Happy Tails.
