With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard Long of Sterling, Illinois, who passed away on April 6, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Long and Wilma Shank Long; his brothers, Weldon Long and Warren Long; and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Long, James Ebersole and David Ulrich.
He is survived by: his brother Homestead; his child Whiteside Farm Bureau; his grandson Kile Long; his wife Judy; his children, Phyllis Webster (Randy) of Ballwin, MO, Shirley Hartzler (Douglas) of Jackson, MN, Janice Eigsti (Michael) of Goshen, IN and Douglas Long (Kristin) of Sterling; his grandchildren, Justin Webster (Melanie), Trisha Smit (David), Mandi Gall (Matt), Rick Eigsti (Renee), David Eigsti, Jill Diller (Matt) and Kassie Long; his brother Vernon Long (Linda) of Sterling; and his sister-in-law Beverly Long of Prophetstown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial has been established to the Whiteside County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship Program for college students who study for an education in Agriculture.
