Lester G. Cordes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lester G. Cordes of Sterling, Illinois, who passed away on May 29, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Cordes and Clara Cordes (Behrens); his wife Fern Allison; his brother Robert Cordes; and his sister-in-law Virginia Morrical (Harold).
He is survived by: his children, Vicki Long (Melvin), Vonni Hall (Michael), Duane Cordes (Sandra) and Judy Butler (David); his grandchildren, Bridget Long, Stacie Short (Joel), Brandon Long, Kelsey Hall, Lindsey Hall, Tonya Spencer (Andrew), Valerie Petty (Ryan), Elliot Campos, Arielle Reeves (Michael) and Ceara Rae (Patrick); and his siblings-in-law, Edward Allison (Anita) and Marie Rolofson (Gordon). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church (21496 Hazel Rd, Sterling, IL 61081).
A memorial has been established to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
