He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Young and Ruth Young (Kehl); and his grandparents, Laurence, Ila Kehl, Amelia and Clyde Young.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Ellen Spittler; his daughters, Melissa Lee (Kent) of Bloomington and Beth Bailey (Greg) of Palmetto; his grandchildren, Sophia Lee, Mayah Lee, Josiah Lee of Bloomington, Benjamin Bailey and Caleb Bailey of Palmetto, Florida.; his sister Claudia Stueve of Stockton; his brother-in-law Mark Spittler (Cindy) of Freeport; his niece Lisa Mahon (Matthew) of Huntley; and his nephew Henry Stueve of Jacksonville, Florida..
A memorial has been established to Sterling First United Methodist Church, Rock River Hospice and Home, and Rock Falls Rotary Scholarship Fund.
