She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewitt Carter and Daisy Carter; her grandparents, Bud and Della; her son Michael Peterson; her fiancé Wayne Cox; her brother Ronnie Carter; and her cousin Camelia Wetzel.
She is survived by: her sons, Russell Peterson of Milwaukee and Jimmy Peterson of Denver Colorado; her cousins, Cindy Bragg (Dan) of Sterling and Barbara Judd of Resaca Georgia; and her sister-in-law Mary Hornbuckle (Georgia) of Dalton. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church (707 1st Ave, Sterling, IL 61081). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Riverside Cemetery (1906 E 3rd St, Sterling, IL 61081).
