He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Earl and La Vera Thompson (Smith); his daughters, Helen Spencer (Mark) and Rebecca Aguilar; his brother Jack Thompson; his son-in-law Audie Roselieb; and his close friend Shirley Betts.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Sue Rhoades; his children, Debbie Roselieb of Fulton, IL, Katherine Thompson (John Fernando) of Las Vegas, NV and Michael Lee Thompson of Austin, TX; and his son-in-law Serta Aguilar of Mexico. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to American Cancer Society.
