He is survived by: his wife Dawn Appenzeller; his children, Martha Nicholson (Paul) and Paul Hoel (Lauren); and his grandchildren, Eric Nicholson (Tonya), Matthew Nicholson (Aubrey), Jacob Nicholson (Whitney), Sarah Oldenburg (Grant), Brian Hoel (Gen) and Kailey Hlavin (Charley). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
