He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Dower and Alice Dower (Hoy); his sister Mary Alice; his brother-in-law John Balles; his sister JoAnn; his brother-in-law Charles Baker; his sister Margaret Ann; his brother-in-law Robert Christensen; his grandchildren, Daniel Santistevan and Karli Weltzin (Dower); his great-nephew Cory Baker; and his son Lawrence John Dower.
He is survived by: his wife Mieko Dower (Tomori); his children, Mary Dower of Tempe, AZ, James Dower (Deb) of Brea, CA, Jeff Dower (Doreen) of Middleton, WI and Tim (Ronda) of Stockton, IL; his grandchildren, Cassandra Dower, Jenna Navarro (Alex), Tara Norton (Kevin), Jamie Palmer (Nathan), Nicole Bie (Jon), Marissa Dower, Payton Dower, Christina Dower and Maddie Pontius (Jerek); and his stepgrandson Brandon Heller (Kaydra). He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (223 E Front Ave, Stockton, IL 61085). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at the Holy Cross Cemetery (961 E North Ave, Stockton, IL 61085).
