She was predeceased by: her parents, Rolland Barbee and Virginia Burkett Craig; her husband Lester Chasteen; her granddaughters, Hope and Grace; and her sister Janice Schwabe.
She is survived by: her children, Sue Bowers (Chris) and Jeff Chasteen (Dana); her grandchildren, Brittany Clifton (Rusty), Tanner Bowers (Caroline), Mackenzie Chasteen (Chance Hull), Carson Chasteen (Shea Jones), Cameron Chasteen (Angela Kimery) and Cody Chasteen; her great grandchildren, Callie, Maxwell, Waylon, Kimber, Beau and Ellie; her siblings, Marvin "Butch" Barbee, Richard "Barney" Craig (Pam) and Jerry Craig (Angela); and her sister-in-law Alice Torgler. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
