He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Berquist and Catherine Berquist; his wife Dianne; his in-laws, Frank and Wabirda Rosa; his sister Mary Jackson; his brothers-in-law, James Shiflett and Chris Jackson; and his granddaughter Ashley Steele.
He is survived by: his sister Jean Shiflett of Greenville, SC; his children, William Jr. "Bill" (Nancy) of Lakeville, MN, Scott (Theresa) of Glendale Heights, IL and Patti Anne Church (Richard) of Elgin, IL.; his grandchildren, Catherine "Catie" (John), Samantha (Andrew), Hannah (David), Matthew, Courtney (Tim), Jason (Samantha) and Trista (Adnan); his great grandchildren, Brodie, Leah, Jax, Leo, Adelynne, Skylar, Ruth, Bryce, Brynn, Samantha, Brielle and Asirah; and his great great grandchild Malakai.
