He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paton and Dorothy Paton (Richards); his brother Richard "Dick" Paton; his brother-in-law Greg Tkach; and his nephew Lee Paton.
He is survived by: his wife Beth Paton of Streator; his children, Jason Paton (Cori) of Streator and Susie Hart (Ryan) of Cornell; his grandchildren, Hanna Paton, Shannon Paton, David Paton, Josie Hart and Owen Hart; his sisters, Alice Kern (Jim) of Streator and Ruth Rowe (Robert) of Elmhurst; and his sisters-in-law, Marcy Paton of Richmond, Virginia and Susan Tkach of Streator. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home (301 S Park St, Streator, IL 61364). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue or the Livingston County Humane Society.
