It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dewaine Calvin Sly of Stronghurst, Illinois, who passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sly and Fern Eckhardt Sly; his stepfather Jolly Wallace; his son Tony Kelly; and his brothers, Dennis and Larry Sly.
He is survived by: his wife Judy E. Lant; his children, Stacie Arnold (Brad) of Media, IL, Scott Sly (Jennifer) of State Center, IA, Jamie Fisher (Shane) of Danville, IA and Tracy Kelly of Joshua, TX.; his grandchildren, Jonathan Arnold (Katie), Samantha Lee (Sean), Shelby Haack (Deagan), Madison Fisher, Colton Fisher, Hunter Sly and Amanda Ralston (Chris); his great grandchildren, McKenna, Joel, Savannah, Jake Arnold, Lainie, Ella Lee, Charlotte, Cameron Haack, Cole and Cason Ralston; and his half-brother Mike Wallace.
A memorial fund has been established for the Stronghurst American Legion.
