He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Farrell "Hap" Nortrup and Margaret Bacon Nortrup; his children, Dwight (Sharon), Randy Countryman, Luann Countryman, Jeff Peterson, Janelle Reigel, Nathan Reigel and Wyatt Peterson; his wife Mary Lue; his brother Jerry Nortrup (Lou Ann); his son Jeremy Nortrup (Angie); and his stepchildren, Wade Countryman (Pam), Ralph Countryman (Fran), Debbie Peterson and Roger Countryman (Jackie). He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren, over thirty great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for the Stronghurst Christian Church.
