He is survived by: his wife Carol Carpenter; his children, Stephen Carpenter and Deborah Volkening (Joshua); his grandchildren, Annmarie Battaglia (Justin), Kaitlin Beatty (Zachary), Ethan Volkening, Eli Volkening, Bethany Volkening, Lillian Volkening and Chloe Carpenter; his siblings, Randy Carpenter (Susan), June Gordon, Jeffery Carpenter (Dawn) and Chuck Carpenter (Linda); and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Mejeur and Linda Elwell (David).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Healy Chapel (370 Division Dr, Sugar Grove, IL 60554). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Village Bible Church (847 Illinois Rt. 47, Sugar Grove, IL 60554).
