He is survived by: his wife Wanda Louise Jones; his children, Jeannie Lorine Barnes (Steve) of Decatur, Shirley Ann Rappold (Bob) of St. Clair, MO, Linda Louise Brown (Jan) of Kirksville and Richard James Abbott (Julie) of Mattoon; his grandchildren, Jeremy Lee Crowe, Robert Cadell Rappold of St. Clair, MO, Stephen Lynn Barnes (Christina) of Lyons, IL, Jasper Dale Brown (Blessing) of Kalamazoo, MI, Tiana Gayle Abbott and Jessie Diane Mossman (Matt) of Sullivan; and his brother Bob Dehart of Sullivan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church of Sullivan (1357 County Rd 1200 E, Sullivan, IL 61951).
