It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Dolan of Sullivan, Illinois, who passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Gene's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Gene has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul James and Mary B. Dolan (Rochat). He is survived by: his wife Arletta Dolan of Sullivan; his daughter Paula Coffer (Tim) of Sullivan; his grandchildren, Gareth Coffer of Sullivan and Anyssa Coffer of Sullivan; and his brother Lynn Dolan (Sarah) of Normal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sullivan (503 W Jackson St, Sullivan, IL 61951). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 25th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Sullivan American Legion Post #68.
