Virginia Elizabeth Risley Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Elizabeth Risley of Sullivan, Illinois, who passed away on March 1, 2026 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Andrew and Agnes Selina Mitchell (Hardin); her husband George L. Risley; her daughters, Sandy Carter and Natalie McDowell (Mauck); and her siblings, Lewis "Pete" Mitchell, Arnold "Dean" Mitchell and Jane Sides.

She is survived by: her children, George A. Risley (Vickie) of Cave Creek, AZ, Linda Bolsen (Dan) of Pawnee and Cindy Tarr (Greg) of Sullivan; and her grandchildren, Todd Risley, Matt Risley (Ashleigh), Derek Bolsen (Lisa), Danielle Lee (Andy), Trevor Tarr (Katie), Tanner Tarr (Lizzie Green), Trenton Tarr (Hannah Schlieker) and Nanette Lilly (Angel). She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Southern Baptist Church in Sullivan.
