He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hoener and Freda M. Hoener (Hufendick); his sisters, Marie Frey (Pete), Naomi Griffin (Little) and Pauline Hoener; and his daughter-in-law Gloria Hoener.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn "Sue" Smyser; his children, Douglas Hoener of Quincy, Gregory Hoener, Sr. (Kathy) of Sutter and Tammy Hoener of Quincy; his grandchildren, Bryce Hoener (Olivia), Allyson Hetzler (Joshua), Kayla Hoener (Owen Shelton), Michael Hoener (Richlyn), Gregory Hoener, Jr. (Megan), Thomas Hoener (Lexis) and Amber Hoener; and his great grandchildren, Callum, Liam, Ricky, Bennett and Ember. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethany United Church of Christ in Tioga.
