Waydene Byrd Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Waydene Byrd (Sycamore, Illinois), who passed away on July 13, 2025 at the age of 96. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Waydene Byrd to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her mother Julia Etta Carney (Justice); her husband Benjamin Franklin; and her father James H. Carney. She is survived by: her daughters, Joyce Davis (Steve) of Cortland and Joann Kunkel of Sycamore; her grandchildren, David Westlake (Sarah), Jennifer Weglarz (Rick Sorensen), Jared Kunkel (Jenni) and Jordan Kunkel (Holly); her great grandchildren, Harper Weglarz Jameson, Johonna, Carter and Jaxson Kunkel; her siblings, Fran Parkerson of Florida and James R. Carney of Tennessee; her siblings-in-law, Marcia Byrd of Chana and Ernie Byrd (Stacy) of Oregon; and her siblings, Mae Shipman, Pearl Eaton, Maxine Ellis, Jerry Balthrop and Emmitt Carney. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home (1405 Dekalb Ave, Sycamore, IL 60178). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to the family to determine at a later date.
