He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Mary Bush (Wille); his wife Jacquelyn Iverson; his sisters, Donna Benson and Doris Moffitt; and his son-in-law Shane Teagarden.

He is survived by: his children, Steve Bush (Kim), Terri Schickel (Jim), Debbie Valazza (Mike), Karen Frommelt (Jonathan) and Kelly Black; and his grandchildren, Jacque, Brooke, Brittany, Madison, Heidi, Angela, Olivia, Cameron, Lily, Tessa, Trey, Bennett and Fischer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in John's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

“I'm very sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. I'll never forget when he got his first Thunderbird when they first came out and him giving my dad and I a ride in it with the top off and doing about 100MPH, how exhilarating that was. I guess he's the one that got me interested in fast cars way back then. The last time I saw him was a few years ago when we played golf at Highland Springs Golf Course. Even though we didn't communicate much, I'll miss him. My condolences to the family.”
