He was predeceased by : his parents, James McWard and Dorothy McWard (Burke); and his brother James Michael McWard. He is survived by : his wife Brenda McWard of Taylorville; and his children, Angela Wallace (Greg) of Bellevue, Christine Hundley (Jesse) of Springfield, Samantha Overton (Brandon) of Taylorville, Timothy McWard (Leanne) of Mark, Frank McWard of Taylorville, David Sims (Sarah) of Morrisonville, Rebecca Childers (Mike) of Taylorville and Casey Donovan (Kasey) of O'Fallon, Missouri. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The military honors was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707).
