He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bryan Sr. and Lela Irene Freeman (Hoffman); his wife Janice Freeman; and his children, Jana Freeman and Dane Freeman.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark Freeman (Diane) of Taylorville and Michael Freeman of Auburn; and his grandchildren, Leigh Ann Lareau (Kelly) of Kincaid, Jaime Freeman of Taylorville, Hannah Freeman of Springfield, Blake Freeman (Karlee) of Bloomington and Ashtyn Ponsler (Logan) of Rochester. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
