She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer C. Cochran and Mrya A. Cochran (Spence); her son Michael Joseph Smith; her granddaughter Samantha Elizabeth Brahler; and her sister Carolyn Fringer.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Elizabeth Smith of Scottsdale, AZ, Peter Smith (Charlotte) of Bowling Green, KY, Katie Sample (Trevor) of Edinburg, Matthew Smith (Collette) of Scottsdale, AZ, Margaret Southard (Alan) of Grosse Pointe, MI and Joe Smith (Kirstyn) of Maryville, IL; her grandchildren, Paetra Kollias (Cory), Demetria Smith, Andrew Sample, Camden Sample, Adella Southard, Ian Southard, Olivia Smith, Anabelle Smith and Ezekiel Smith; her great grandchildren, Dahlia and Ciaran Kollias; and her siblings, Beverly Millwood (Ed) and Gary Cochran. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (116 W Adams St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
