He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Marge Samson, Mae Jean Wettstein and John McCarty; his aunt Bobbie Mollet; his uncles, Danny Samson, Randy Samson, Steve Samson and Roger McCarty; his cousin Katie McCarty; and his sister-in-law DeeAnna Samson.
He is survived by: his parents, Richard Lee and Debra Faye Samson (McCarty) of Taylorville, IL; his children, Jayden Lee Samson, Brisa Lynn Samson and Jordan Mahrie Samson; his grandfather Robert Samson Sr. of Taylorville, IL; his siblings, Ricky Samson Jr. (Anita Scott) of Taylorville, IL and Deanna Gideon (Chris) of Taylorville, IL; and the mother of his children Amanda Girard. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
