He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Wente and Martha Wente (Hartke); his great grandchild Hutson Westendorf; his parents-in-law, Louis and Ruth Koester; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Koester and Frank Koester.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Koester; his children, Jenny Walden (Kent) of Mode, Carrie Copple (Scott) of Teutopolis, Nathan Wente (Tammy) of Green Creek, Audrie Wente (Troy) of Neoga and Bethanie Nice (Brandon) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and his siblings, Victoria Draves (David), Nick Wente (Joyce), Chris Wente, Patrick Wente (Sharon), Gloria Pruemer (Dale), Monica Emmerich (John), Valentine Wente and Matthew Wente. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the family, who will use them in accordance with their wishes.
