He was predeceased by: his parents, Elza Byars and Edith Byars (Burge); his wife Janet Sue Dalby; his siblings, Betty Austin (Lavern) and Henry Byars; and his brothers-in-law, Norman Williams and Ken Richardson.
He is survived by: his son Mark (Becky); his grandchildren, Tyler, Brooklyn Van (Vu), Savannah Wenal (Garen), Mariah Morton (Alpha) and Bailey Walsh (Olin); his great grandchildren, Ashton Morton, Lainey Van, Liam Walsh and Morton; and his sisters-in-law, Sheila Byars, Judy Williams and Joyce Richardson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Panther Fork Baptist Church (22224 N Tolle Ln, Texico, IL 62889). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial gifts may be made to Panther Fork Baptist Church or the Panther Fork Cemetery Fund, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Illinois 62830.
