With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Hattie L. McKee of Thebes, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Hattie left this world on July 4, 2025 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Brown and Ella Brown (Suiter); her husband Vernon Frederick McKee; her son Vernon Eugene "Gene" McKee; and her siblings, Frank Brown (Alma), Alice Wilder (Mack) and Jane Dettenbach (Robert).
She is survived by: her daughters, Gloria Vaughn (Larry) and Beverly Simmons; her grandchildren, Steven McKee, David McKee (Brenda), Lyndal Vaughn, Carmen Birk and Kyle Birk; her great grandchildren, Justin McKee, Megan McKee (Tyler Hale), Peyton Vaughn, Mason Vaughn, Breyden Martin and Bracelee Martin; and her great great grandchildren, Emilee Moore, Grayson Moore and Ashlynn Hale. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home (829 North West End Boulevard, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701).
