He was predeceased by: his parents, John Anker and Alice Anker (Hiemstra). He is survived by: his wife Jan Bunker; his children, Kayte Ossler (Rick) and John Anker (Sandra); his stepson Gary Bunker (Michele); and his siblings, Jane Anker and Roy Anker (Ellen). He is also survived by seven grandsons, two granddaughters and one great grandson.
Earl graduated from Thornton Township High School and from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) on a scholarship from the Pullman Foundation, while working for Acme Steel.
