He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ellen Moriarty; his children, Mike Moriarty, Colleen Moriarty (John Boyce), John, Maureen Lynn (Kevin) and Brian Moriarty (Eileen); his grandchildren, Michael Moriarty (Ruth), Dan Moriarty, Lisa Moriarty, Meghan Moriarty (Jesse Melow), Brendan Moriarty (Kara Koerber), Mckayla Lynn, Patrick Lynn, Kendall Lynn and Mikey; and his siblings, Dan Moriarty (Betty), Pat Moriarty (Rose), Frank Moriarty (Kathleen) and Mary Whisson (Tom).

Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church (17500 84th Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60487). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803).
