With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Mattern of Tiskilwa, Illinois, born in Kewanee, Illinois, who passed away on March 24, 2023 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward "Ted" Mattern and Esther Mattern (Newell); and his mother-in-law Carolyn Lawson. He is survived by: his pets, Heidi and Mollie; his wife Judy Lawson; his siblings, Rose Stash (Dan) of Streator, Deb Osborn (Bob) of Streator, Mary Donovan (Mike) of Wyanet, Judy Bogatitus (Bill) of Tiskilwa, Tim Mattern (Rachel Corsale) of Spring Valley and Brent Mattern (Judy Mills) of Princeton; his granddaughter McKynna Gonzalez of Wyoming, IL.; his father-in-law Donald Lawson of Princeton; his siblings-in-law, Paula Lawson of Hallendale Beach, FL., David Lawson (Peg) of Mendota and Bob Lawson of Princeton; and also Eric Arbuckle. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
