He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurl Burton and Nellie Burton (Prince); his wife Jessie Lawhorn; his son Rick Warfield; his foster son David Stone; his daughter Sharon Seeley; and his siblings, Lester, Thurl Jr., Henry, Gilbert, Carl, Marion, Jack Burton, Eunice Starwalt, Vivian Cross, Maxine Cather, Joan Cross and Lucille Starwalt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sheila Fritts (Tom) and Karen Sue Stone; and his sister Faye Welch. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
