He is survived by: his son Joe Smith of Arcola, IL; his mother Carol Smith of Arcola; and his siblings, Mandy Smith of Houston, TX, James "Jamey" Smith of Arthur, IL, Angie Goad (Wes) of Tuscola, IL and Shawnee Gabbard of Atwood, IL.. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home (221 E Main St, Arcola, IL 61910). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his son, Joe Smith, or to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which provides resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use.
