Linda Lu Mapel Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linda Lu Mapel of Towanda, Illinois, who passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Lotz and Katherine Lotz (White); her stepmother Gladys; and her brother Paul. She is survived by: her husband Randy Mapel; her children, Jennifer Nelson (Jon) of Downs, Erin Stombaugh (Matt) of Bloomington, Brett Mapel (Kim) of Bloomington and Clint Mapel (Kassie) of Edwardsville; her grandchildren, Sydney (Nick), Laney, Brayden, Kennady, Kaitlyn, Halle, Mallory, Clay, Ben, Graham and Gloria; her siblings, Wayne Lotz (Cathy) and Susan Browne (late Pat); and her stepbrothers, Marshall Smith (Dominique) and Nelson Smith (Dawn). She is also survived by her children and caring for her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Twin Grove Christian Church or The Baby Fold.
