He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vaninger and Kathryn Vaninger; his wife Elvera "Vera" Welling of Mary's Church; his sister Velva McGavock; his parents-in-law, Henry and Christine Welling; and his siblings-in-law, Louis, Grace Welling, Sr., Leandra Welling, Donald, Eloise Seger and Ann Bolk.
He is survived by: his children, Gerrie Ann Goble (Jay) of Trenton, Lynn Spicer (Robb) of Columbia, Jim Vaninger (Debbie) of Ottawa and Kara Williams (Don) of Trenton; his grandchildren, Tyler Goble (Katie), Alex Goble, Ryan Spicer (Jordan), Elizabeth Vaninger, Lauren Vaninger, Drew Williams (Amanda) and Kate Niemerg (Louis); his great grandchildren, Emilia, Allie Goble, Cole, Carly, Clay Spicer and Nolan Niemerg; and his brother-in-law James Bolk of Carlyle.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Western Clinton County Senior Service and will be received by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St. Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
