It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Ellsworth Ruth of Trenton, Illinois, who passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldred Ruth and Ruby Ruth; his brother William "Mickey" Ruth; his nephew Mark Becker; his parents-in-law, Bobby and Rosemary Berberich; and his brother-in-law Thomas Berberich.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Ruth of Belleville, Jacob Ruth (Natalie) of Lebanon, Kimberly Deters of Trenton and James Ruth (Alexandria) of New Baden; his grandchildren, Penelope Walker, Charlotte, David, Gideon Ruth, Zoey, Catherine Deters and Henry Ruth; and his sister Louise Becker (Dennis) of Marine. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In honor of John's memory, memorial contributions may be directed to the New Baden United Methodist Church or the St. Clair Extension and Education Foundation in support of 4-H programming, which can be made at the funeral home.
