He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Barrett and Nancy Barrett of Calumet; and his in-laws, John and Dorothy Cryder of Trenton. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Barrett; his children, Reverend Steven Barrett (Kay) of Millstadt, IL and Krista VanderMolen (Rob) of Gilbert, AZ.; his grandchildren, Christopher, Savannah, Parker Barrett of Millstadt, Amanda VanderMolen of Chandler, AZ., Alyssa Birmingham of Gilbert, AZ. and Aubrea Cuevas (Johnathan) of Mesa, AZ.; his nieces and nephews, Kerrie Klein (Tim), Kellie Kunz (Phil) of Trenton and Brent Brede (Jamie) of Aviston; and his siblings, Archie Barrett, Frances Commander, Ray Barrett, Mona Snyder, Mary Ann MacCain, Dean Barrett and Marvin Eudy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the West Gate Baptist Church ~ Trenton (843 W Broadway, Trenton, IL 62293).
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to Westgate Baptist Church or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N.5th.
