It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Elizabeth Taylor of Troy, Illinois, who passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Carol has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Shaver and Louanna Shaver (Corzine); her former husband William Frederick Taylor; her husband John "Jack" Taylor; and her friend Don Chrismore.
She is survived by: her sons, Scott Taylor of Crystal City and Fred "Butch" Taylor (Kim Caldwell) of Troy, Illinois.; and her brother Carl Shaver of Carlyle, Illinois.
