Gary touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. While Gary’s presence will be missed, the influence he had on others will remain. Those who knew him will carry forward memories that reflect his character and spirit.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edwards and Marilyn Edwards (Walz); and his son Greg Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Cruse; his sons, Geoff Edwards (Christina) and Garrett Edwards; and his grandsons, Benjamin and Simon. He is also survived by other extended family members and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Irwin Chapel (591 Glen Crossing Rd, Glen Carbon, IL 62034). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (200 N Lange Ave, Maryville, IL 62062).
Memorial donations may be made to Evelyn's House and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
