He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hart and Helen G. Hart (York); his wife Janice L. Cook; his sister Jackie Hart; his son-in-law Glen Bird; and his brother-in-law Dave Byrd.
He is survived by: his children, Natalie Watts (John) of Brighton, IL, Kimberly Augustine (Boyd McGathey) of Waterloo, IL, Tracy Bird of Sessor, IL and Alex Burris (Jena) of Troy, IL; his sisters, Joyce Byrd of Sullivan, MO, Sharon Strickland (Rick) of Idaho and Lucy Readhead of Cahokia, IL; his grandchildren, Meghan Enskat (Mark), John Watts, Michael Augustine (Lilly), Jake Augustine, Jeremy Elder, Ty Kattenbraker (Alydia Burlison), Cheyenne Oxendine (Jared Gallagher), Hunter Burris, Beau Burris (Mallory Kamp), Nicki Guldner and Tatum Burris; and his great grandchildren, Madalynn, Macoy, Malia, Koen and Ivy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home (727 E Bethalto Blvd, Bethalto, IL 62010). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 7th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice and/or for Mental Health Awareness.
