He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Baumgartner and Gertrude Baumgartner (Feldt); his siblings, Leonard Baumgartner, Mary Hobbs and Esther Miller; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Klostermann, Betty Baumgartner and Mary Jo Baumgartner.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Daiber; his daughters, Michelle Heffron (Cory), Susan Mazur (Brandon) and Laurie Langdon (Ryan); his grandchildren, Maverick, Kylie, Carter, Austin, Evie and Aubrie; his siblings, Jerome Baumgartner (Rita), Henry Baumgartner (Carolyn), Paul Baumgartner, Christina Friess, Anna Mersinger (Rich), Agnes Raine (Frank) and Theresa Deak; and his siblings-in-law, Lucy Koehnemann (Bill), Beverly Klostermann, Mary Ann Weder (Herb), Patty Allen (Rick), Allan Daiber and Leroy Daiber (Renee). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Irwin Chapel (591 Glen Crossing Rd, Glen Carbon, IL 62034). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the St. Jerome Catholic Church (107 Wayland Ave, Troy, IL 62294). A burial will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Jefferso Barracks National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Otto's honor toward a memorial bench, creating a lasting place of remembrance where family and friends can reflect on the wonderful memories they shared with him.
