She was predeceased by: her parents, Willi Osting and Bertha Osting (Fadulski); her former husbands, Hermann Peterson, Henning and David Lanckhoff; her siblings, Freddy Osting, Dieter Osting, Uwe Osting, Klaus Peter Osting and Waltraud Haertel; and her son David Lanckhoff (Mary).

She is survived by: her husband William Hart (Randy); her children, Christina Petersen (Stephen), Franciska Blankenfeld (Betti), Norman Eichmann (Joy) and Rebecca Lanckhoff (James Pilkington); her grandchildren, Nicholas Bradley, Sarah Kang (Christopher), Lauryn Seger (Jeremy), Kathryn Conley (Colby), Megan Eichmann, Carter Suberla-Lanckhoff, Addison Pilkington, Mason Pilkington, David Lanckhoff and Nathan Lanckhoff; and her brother Ronald Osting. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Rita's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
