She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Omer and Reba Elizabeth Mitchell (Kirk); her husband Leroy Smith; her siblings, Dorothy Knuckles, Betty Stevens and Lou Mills; and her close friend Sue Davis.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry Schlenker (Carla) of Decatur, IN, Rex Schlenker (Lisa) of Lewisburg, PA and Michael Smith (Kristina) of Tuscola, IL; her grandchildren, Vickie Cook (Rob) of Bluffton, IN, Lisa Koughn (Danny) of Ossian, IN, Branden Schlenker of Tuscola, IL, Blake Smith of Tuscola, IL, Bailey Knerr (Colby) of Tuscola, IL, Austin Miller (Ericka) of Tuscola, IL and Cory Smith of Tuscola, IL; and her siblings, Nina Howell of Farmland, IN, Rosemary Swingly of Cincinnati, OH, Fred Mitchell (Mary) of Sebring, FL, Sandra Knotts of Albany, KY and Diane Galtney (Dave) of Muncie, IN.. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home (221 E Main St, Arcola, IL 61910). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
