She was predeceased by : her parents, Alva Starkey and E. Meree Starkey; and her husband Al Ruthstrom. She is survived by : her children, Diane Long, Randy, Di Ruthstrom, Ashley, Heather, Cliff, Katie, Kirstie, Jason, Jeff, Pam Cross, George, Annabelle Cross (Colby), Jody and Dean Walden; and her great grandchildren, Addison, Lindy, Cameron, Drew, Sam, Charlie, Wren and Owen.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Champaign County Humane Society or Cunningham Children's Home in memory of Joan.
